What is it

The Regional Directorate for the Communities provides assistance with the certification of documents with a Hague Apostille.

The Hague Apostille is a formality (seal) that certifies the authenticity of documents and public deeds issued in the territory of one state that must be presented in the territory of another Hague Apostille Convention signatory state.

See the countries that have joined at https://www.hcch.net/pt/states/hcch-members

Who is it intended for

Any citizen who needs the Hague Apostille certification.

Type of support

Documents that need to be authenticated should be sent to the Attorney General’s Office in Ponta Delgada. For this purpose, the Regional Directorate for the Communities assists with the completion of the form itself and attaches the documents to be certified, so that they can subsequently be submitted by post to the Attorney General’s Office in Ponta Delgada.
