The Regional Directorate of Communities (DRC), the contact details of which are listed at the bottom of this page, collects personal data through the Immigrant’s Guide website, in the following contexts and conditions:

1. When subscribing to the Immigrant’s Guide newsletter, only the electronic mail address (email) is collected, and kept for the duration of the subscription or until its cancellation is confirmed by the owner of the address. If the e-mail address is considered invalid for any reason, particularly if message consistently bounce, it will be deleted by the DRC.
2. In compliance with the legal obligation to ensure the security of information systems, stipulated in paragraph 1 of Article 32 of the GDPR, the DRC processes personal data for the purposes set out in article 6(1)(c) of this legislation. It collects the following data from visitors to its website: date and time of visit, IP (Internet protocol) address, the type of browser used by the visitor, and the pages that are accessed. This data is stored for a maximum of 180 days. The personal data that is collected is not provided to third parties, and will undergo analysis for the purpose of obtaining website access metrics, as well as in cases where there are possible security incidents. In this case, the competent authorities shall only be notified following an analysis;
3. The platform on which the website is built uses cookies for some of the implemented functionalities. These are restricted to the absolute minimum necessary for the correct functioning of the website, and information is provided about their use when you first visit the website;
4. This is one of the websites provided by the Azores Regional Government (GRA). In this context, the top menu bar common to all GRA websites is loaded from portal.azores.gov.pt. For this reason, please also see the privacy policy on the website portal.azores.gov.pt;

Migrant´s Guide App Privacy Policy

Introduction

The Regional Directorate for the Communities respects the legislation on the processing of your personal data in accordance with applicable law, namely Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and the free circulation of such data (hereinafter, the “General Data Protection Regulation” or “GDPR”), as well as Act 58/2019 of 8 August, which ensures the implementation in the Portuguese law of the referred GDPR (hereinafter, the “PDPA” [Personal Data Protection Act]).
This privacy policy applies exclusively to the collection and processing of personal data carried out by the Regional Directorate for the Communities within the scope of the Migrant´s Guide App.
The Regional Directorate for the Communities is responsible for the collection and processing of personal data collected during the use and/or signing in the Migrant´s Guide App.
Please read this privacy policy as the disclosure of your personal data within the scope of the use of the Migrant´s Guide App implies knowledge and acceptance of the conditions contained herein. Thus, by providing your personal data, you are authorizing their collection, use and disclosure in accordance with the rules defined herein.

Purpose of Data Collection and Processing

The Regional Directorate for the Communities collects your data when you fill out the contact form in the Migrant´s Guide App, and when you contact us through the same app to provide your opinion.
The personal data collected (name, email address, telephone, or any information present in documents or images that you submit) are processed by computer and in strict compliance with personal data protection law, being stored in a specific  database created for this end, and under no circumstances will the collected data be used for any purpose other than that for which the data subject’s consent was given.
Migrant’s Guide App users expressly authorize the Regional Directorate for the Communities to record, process and use the personal data provided by users, in order to render the requested services, and in this context to communicate with the user through the contracts provided.
As part of the use of the Migrant’s Guide App, certain personal data may be collected by the editors of the operating systems used on your mobile phone. Therefore, we recommend that you consult the confidentiality policies of the editors of the various operating systems in order to become aware of the use they make of your personal data.
The personal data that we process through this application will only be used for the following purposes:

• Rendering services to the public within the scope of the attributions and competences of the Regional Directorate for the Communities;
• Adjusting services to the user’s needs and interests.

The Regional Directorate for the Communities guarantees the confidentiality of all data provided by its users. The Regional Directorate for the Communities safely collects and processes data and prevents their loss or manipulation, using the most perfected techniques for this purpose.
Depending on the authorizations that the user has given to the Regional Directorate for the Communities at the time of installing the Migrant’s Guide App or using it for the first time, and also when configuring  her/his mobile phone (authorization to receive push notifications), he/she may receive personalized information by SMS, push or email.

How Can you access, correct or oppose the processing of your personal data?
