The Presidency of the Government of the Azores, through the Regional Directorate for the Communities, is promoting a training session on cultural diversity for public service technicians of the municipalities of the Autonomous Region of the Azores to take place in Ponta Delgada on Monday, November 27.
This training initiative aims to provide training to regional local authority workers on cultural diversity and interculturality, endowing them with the skills to overcome the challenges of interacting with people from different cultural backgrounds while contributing to the successful integration of immigrant citizens into Azorean society.
Participation in this session, taught by an instructor from the Office of the High Commission for Migration, will enable trainees to acquire fundamental knowledge for quality and citizen-centred service, capable of recognising the importance of diversity to ensure fair and equal collective participation for all.
The welcome session will be chaired by the Regional Director for the Communities, José Andrade.
The training session on cultural diversity is part of the Intercultural Islands project, a joint organisation of the Regional Directorate for the Communities and AIPA – Association of Immigrants in the Azores, funded by the Fund for Asylum, Migration and Integration (FAMI) and the High Commission for Migration (ACM).
