Program to Support the Recovery and Disinfestation of Buildings Infested with Termites (TE)

Renovated House Program - Inhabited House

Expansion and/or Remodelling of Own Housing

What is it

The program establishes measures to control and combat termite infestation by granting financial support for disinfestation and performing repair work on buildings damaged by termite infestation.

Who can apply

National or foreign individuals or companies, with headquarters in Portugal or overseas, or foreigners with authorization to reside in Portuguese territory.

Application period

1 April to 30 September.

Requirements

– Be an owner or co-owner of the building or autonomous fraction of the building to be repaired;
– Enjoy use of the building or autonomous fraction of the building to be repaired. The respective title must be constituted according to the terms set out in the law, for life;
– Location of the property.

Co-funding

The support takes the form of:
a) Non repayable co-payment;
b) Interest rate subsidy for loans.

The application process can be done at RIAC (Integrated Citizen Support Network) stores or requested in person at the Regional Directorate of Housing Service. There are Regional Directorate of Housing services on all islands, with the exception of Corvo.

Renovate to Rent

Renovate to Live

What is it

Support for refurbishment, repair, and improvement works in vacant rental housing.

Who can apply

The owners of the property subject to the application.

Application period

1 April to 30 December.

Requirements

– The properties subject to the application have not been refurbished or renovated with public support;
– After refurbishment, the building or parts thereof for residential use, and their ancillary parts, are to be leased under the conditional rent or supported rental schemes.

Co-funding

The support to be granted takes the form of a repayable, interest-free subsidy, given to both individuals, private charity institutions and legal entities of administrative public utility who pursue social goals.

What is it

Support for the refurbishment of your own permanent housing.

Who can apply

Individuals living in households.

Application period

1 to 31 July.

Requirements

– Owners of the property subject to the application. The property should have been used as the permanent residence of the applicant’s household for at least one year;
– Co-owners, beneficial owners, users and holders of housing rights.

Co-funding

The support to be granted takes the form of a non-repayable and repayable subsidy.

What is it

Support for carrying out works on housing owned and permanently resided in by the applicant for the purpose of extending or remodeling it.

Who can apply

Individuals living in households.

Application period

1 April to 31 December.

Requirements

– Neither the interested party or any member of his or her household may have received this benefit or any other housing support;
– The following properties are not eligible: that are pledged, seized or enrolled; are located in a risk zone.

Co-funding

The support to be granted takes the form of a non-repayable subsidy.
